ABOUT ME:

Welcome to my page. I have two main passions: depicting the South Asian-American experience and speaking multiple languages.

Bio:
  • I was born in London but grew up in San Diego.
  • I speak English and French fluently.
  • I studied abroad at the Université de Bordeaux.
  • I received my B.A. in Linguistics at U.C. Berkeley.
  • I always wanted to be onstage. As a child, I would make-believe scenes in front of the mirror.
  • I grew up learning and performing Indian classical dance (Bharatanatyam) and it plays a part in the stories I create today. Check out my dance trailer for my one-woman show Hollow/Wave (2018.)
  • I received my M.F.A. in Acting from the Chicago College of Performing Arts/Roosevelt University in 2013.
  • Agency as an actor is important. I started creating my own work in 2015.

My work:

  • I premiered my autobiographical one-woman show Hollow/Wave in 2018, narrating my journey through depression via Indian classical dance and poetry.
  • During the pandemic, I started learning Korean, cos I became a BTS Army.
  • In 2021, I completed the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification program at UCSD, with a focus on Business.
  • I wrote, acted in, co-directed and edited the short film AutoCorrect which is an official selection to 10 festivals.

Right now:

  • I’m living in LA, working on producing my next short film, Crossing the Desert, a bilingual short featuring a queer South Asian woman trying to reconnect with her austere grandmother across the world.
